Nightstation 0.6

Nightstation is all abut the concept of a VR dark ride – and this one is pretty psychedelic, kind of like a virtual blacklight poster. And who knows, maybe you can ride this in “Facebook Land” a few years down the road… if they allow this sort of thing…

This is definitely a work in progress – but I thought I’d release it at this stage because there’s something cool about the rawness of it. I think I may have jammed too much stuff in there, because it’s starting to slow my computer down, and I have a pretty fast computer.
.
There are no controls in this demo – just look around while you ride…
.
It’s meant to be viewed on the Oculus Rift, but you can check it out even if you don’t have one. Windows only, for now.

This is a work-in-progress demo. I haven’t had much time to work in it in the past few weeks.

I do plan on refining this demo a great deal – but riding through this unfinished, largely empty place has its own kind of charm – so I figured I’d release it as-is, before it’s transformed into something new.

Nightstation demoed at NYC VR Meetup

Written by  on March 8, 2014

I demoed Nightstation 0.4 at the  second NYC VR Meetup, on March 6, 2014, thanks to the organizer, Eric Greenbaum, who let me run it on his laptop and Rift.
.
Several people were able to try it out, and I got some nice comments. It was the first time I publicly demoed Nightstation, other than for my family.

Here are some pics from the event:
